Neuschwanstein Castles

The schuttle bus brought us up the narrow one lane road. You wait your turn with the light. From this point we walked a steep 20 minutes to the castle.

Our tour bus brought us to this point to ride the shuttle bus. The shuttle was packed shoulder to shoulder with people standing. That wouldn't fly in the US.

The castle was undergoing maintaince on the outside and had scaffling on this side. Neuschwanstein is one of 3 castles built by King Ludwig ll Of Bavaria in 1869-1886

This is King Maximilian ll 's castle.

Inside the Edelweiss Lodge & Resort

The lobby was beautiful with wood, leather, stone, rocking chairs: adult & childrens and a glass wall entry.

This was our view from our room on the second floor with a glass wall and balcony.

This hugh painting was on the wall. See Bill's hand on the left.Gary & Regina watched the Labor Day fireworks on the front lawn from this second floor balcony. Bill & me liked to sit in the rocking chairs and watch the hang gliders soar from the mountains.

The Alps behind one wing of the lodge.

A painting on the front of the lodge tells the namesake of the resort, the Edelweiss flower. This flower is found high in the Alps, a symbol of pride and a provider of healing medicine. In the picture the young man climbs the Alps to pick the Edelweiss flower to give his lady.
